Elaborating on the ideomotor effect. Once you understand the meaning of the ideomotor you will find that what I encounter using muscle monitoring makes sense.
The ideomotor is the notion that throughout the day your body makes
involuntary movements based on signals running through your nervous
system.There is nothing superficial going on, so no one should feel
endangered other then those who do not know their body and the
sensations one can have.
Now, you can fabricate a device so to record and measure these signals or
you use a pendulum, ouija board, dowsing rod ... or you can use the one
thing within everyones reach: the muscle monitor.
Using the muscle test as a monitor you can get the information perfectly. Some say, "People Fool themselves by Ideomotor Action". As an observer and practitoner of Specialized Kinesiology I agree to a certain point. Yes, do not fool your self. But just as you do not stop driving a car because it is unsafe to drive, you will not reject this means of transportation, once you have learned to drive. So it is with muscle monitoring.
This notion of ideomotor signaling gives one the opportunity to
get to learn what signals pass through and what not;
learn to interpret what bothers someone;
ultimately see a change happening when a intervention is made.
We at Specialized Kinesiology aim for listening to the ideomotor system. Our nervous system houses these processes we call Conscious and Other-then-Conscious in the same way we tend to hold information on a hard drive. These clusters of information can be pulled willingly (conscious) or unintended (other-then-conscious). You will be amazed when you learn how much unintended information is send through our nervous system every day.
Those who have learned to "listen" (read) the variations of ideomotor signals can do a good job, because - as you can imagine - these persons have the possibility to login into the computersystem called: Body Mind Spirit.
"Focus" is the mindset that helps the practitioner to locate the problem, the type of problem and what to do about it to overcome it. And you know things have changed immediately because of this change in ideomotor indication, after the intervention has been made.
Involuntary movements prevail when a person comes under stress. "Stress is normal, stress is good". But too much stress brings a person out of balance. When the Conscious does not act, bodies natural search for homeostasis (relative balance) kicks in and the involuntary movements help the body to survive. At least that is its task. Not understanding these involuntary actions is what stops us from overcoming our problems.
